The best time to schedule your maternity session is around 30-37 weeks of pregnancy. This is when your belly is big enough to be visible in photographs, but you’re not too uncomfortable yet.

Yes, ABSOLUTELY! It’s a great opportunity to capture some family photos and create lasting memories as your family grows. It is a must that they are in the photos too!

It’s a good idea to bring a few outfit options as there will be time for an outfit change. I will bring my pop up tent to change in as well. You may also want to bring water, snacks, and anything else you need to stay comfortable during the session. I also highly recommend flip flops to walk in until we reach the session location, and change into a nicer shoe if that is your plan.

You should wear something comfortable and flattering that accentuates your belly. Flowy dresses, fitted tops, and maternity gowns are all popular choices. It’s also a good idea to avoid loud colors and patterns and opt for solid colors instead. I will send clothing guides as well as offer gowns to borrow from my client closet.

The location of your photo session can greatly affect the overall look and feel of your photos. Choose a location that reflects your family’s personality or interests, and ultimately what kind of scene do  you want to see printed on your walls?  You can also consider the time of year and the type of scenery you want in your photos. After booking, I will provide a list of preferred locations with image examples for you to see the feel for each destination.
